oeps forgot your video . well I like the fact you filmed two different characters that way giving a view to your talent . However I`d love to see who`s the person behind as well . A few seconds of you yourself so to say and much more close up ... Maybe some more drama as well . Don`t you have a showreel ? You could edit some of that into what you have now ... Do you have an agent btw ?

Hi Margaret , I think there are 2 reasons for the Dutch to use UK or USA natives . 1e we can`t do your accents properly . Look at the 2 most famous Dutch Rutger Hauer and Jeroen Krabbe . One can always still hear they are both Dutch .So if they want a corporate with UK characters they go for UK actors . It looks very amateur and cheap if the accent isn`t done properly and believable , that way putting whatever product down .I figure you hear my accent as well ...
2e they may want new faces in e.g. commercials . They often ask me to come to Belgium for commercials , just because the public doesn`t know me there .But I don`t travel to Belgium for a comm. casting with 20 ot 30 applicants anymore . Don`t worth the effort .
About sites ? Spotlight `s the best . And most expensive . Are you on ? Did a casting via Spotlight for The Code (Morgan Freeman) once ,but the part went to a guy from New York cause he has a Green Card !!! Did send some clips realted to castings on there as well . It`s the most pro site . And maybe www.casting-call.uk and casting-call pro .

Tough bussiness it is . StarNow gave me some good contacts as well . But me personally I need an agent in London . Think that`s the onliest way in the end . Hopefully after Rapture I`ll get that chance .
Wishing you good luck , Emile

PS If you saw work on 'tobeseen' (I think that it the site you mentioned, forgive if it's wrong), then sign up for the month. I think they are all about the same. I've had more work from 'tobeseen'

To be honest Margaret, I think it's difficult for our age anyway. I've only recently paid for CCP (Casting Call), and have applied for numerous things but nothing so far but as I said, it's the summer. If your agent hasn't got you anything for a while, it might be worth looking around and remarket yourself, then you could get onto their casting info. I guess it's only fair, as our agents are meant to do that! Why don't you try one of the casting websites for a month, see how you go. That's what I did with CastWeb initially, then I tried tobeseen - it's all tax deductible anyway.

I'm sorry to hear about Marie, (Martin's partner), hope she's okay. Yes I know he's preparing for a tour September. Our Actors & Writers group are on our summer break, so I'll catch up with his news in early September. Hopefully meet you at CWFF or the Gala Night. xx

I have a part time job and a family. The job pays for my websites. If you're not happy with your agent then go it alone. In my opinion, free work can be good to bump up your credits and contribute to a showreel. It's only good as a spring board though. There is always a way. We must believe. xxx

Hey Margaret! Thankx for taking the time to review my bit your comments are always welcome! I utilized this opportunity to deliver a straight no frills piece to camera as an exercise simply to show the breadth of my range as this helps to stop the pond growing stagnant! Good luck! Knight Out!

Hi Margaret. Just wanted to say thanks for reviewing my clip. I know what you mean about the glasses. The reflections are even worse when viewed full screen. Not at all offended by the Clive James reference. Curiously enough I was once cast to play Clive James in a live music show so well spotted. I thought long and hard about how to pitch the audition and deliberately went for the news reporter approach in the belief that they were looking for a straight man to act as a foil for Jamies zany comedy. Having read the few reviews that exist on site I have to admit that it now looks as if you are right and they are indeed looking for a zanier approach. Oh well, thats the fun of these things trying to work out what they want. Much of my feedback in the past has referred to OTT performances so I really wanted to put in a semi serious performance this time to show them the other side of me. Unfortunately I am away on holiday on 1st September so even if they did want me I wouldnt be available but as Steve says they now have something on record to show how I might shape up as a presenter for future projects. All the best and thanks agin for reviewing my clip. All the best Wayne

Hi Margaret, How are you? I think if you tried a really dramatic script it would be better for showing off your acting ability. But well done for getting one done and uploaded and interesting to see you at home with your dog (well interesting for me, cos I'm that type of nosy person!)

Margaret I Like your video. A good idea to give us the "natural you" in the first part, as you have here. You remind me somewhat of a woman who used to run the country, another Margaret. Are you related in any way?Great stuff - felt like a naughty school boy listening to you this morning - wouldn't like to spend more than a coupe of minutes in your company. And then in the second part a spot on characterisation of a warm and likeable woman with charm and integrity.Challenging, direct and at the same time very approachable. Angus Was very natural & Likeable too but lacks the focus and discipline to really make it as a performer.
Like you, I would like to see many more ladies parts for the over 40's. I am 47 in a couple of weeks an hope to see plenty more.
Keep up the good work
Rob
I would like to see more womens parts
