Having retired from 31 years as a police detective i January 2007 I set out to explore the possibility of a professional acting career. It has been a wonderful ride. As a direct result of my involvement with BTMS I have now successfully registered with Spotlight. I have a wonderful family who have all been extremely supportive. This year my hope is to move my career forwards and to have as much fun as I did last year.

Wayne, we can't fault your tone and pitch which makes for a very clear delivery of the script. We didn't miss a word! On this occasion, we felt the use of the zoom was a little too intense however but an enjoyable test!

Wayne, this definitely grabs our attention - extreme close ups are also very terrifying! You could have done with slowing everything down so that we got more of a relaxed, villainous Malmart as opposed to the urgency you presented us with. Great characterisation all the same.

'Mother Manson' Reviewing Team - (Charles Manson Screentest 2)
Wayne, this was very good fun, but although your gentle female voice was excellent, it really suffered from inconsistency. When you showed Charles breaking through, it was either all Charles or all Theresa – and not enough sense of a breakthrough or struggle. The Charles voice you found however was effective, with the right sense of passion and intensity. Good effort and very entertaining.

Wayne, a good effort, well done! As we’ve seen with many, the gap between the two personalities was perhaps too close so we couldn’t get the real opposites at war within your Charlie, but you were working towards it well. The voices you found were perhaps the main problem, you chose a gentle man rather than a gentle woman for Mother Theresa so we lost impact from the start. Good effort.

Wayne, the touch of gravel in your voice is great and adds another dimension to your performance. The actual dialogue got a little lost but the laugh was infectious - would have been great to see more variation all the same.

Wayne, great effort here. Unfortunately your accent wavers a great deal throughout and when it does it breaks the spell of your performance. You show great judgements on the comedy potential which should be applauded. Good effort.

Wayne, you always ante up on the characterisation and this time is no exception. You coped well with the forced timing - a deliberate challenge, and there is a great natural quality to your voice. Even dropping your 'H's didn't sound excessively pantomime. Good job.

Wayne, what a great use of props, you inject so much menace with the casual glimpse of those big knives, like Jack Nicholson's appearance in The Departed, where he appears covered in blood with no explanation. There is too much theatre at the end of your performance, but you are a unique and memorable performer.

Wayne, this is an interesting audition, you have a strong look that we can imagine you can put to a diversity of roles. Despite the theatricality of your audition, we think you could also do more natural and earthy work too. A great effort and good work.

So post Edgar Harding, the rug goes! but its a fantastic role and the fact that I got it is very much down to the exposure I have received through my involvement with BTMS so yet again I am indebted to you. The cast of Edgar includes Jay Aston from Bucks Fizz Robert Maguire from Queer As Folk, Carolynne Goode BBC Fame Academy and Daniel Sharman who has just got a major role in Lewis. I play the manager of the group and one of the scenes involves a charity fund raising do with 250 extras, all there for my character Edgar. We start filming next week so the Rapture delay couldnt have worked better for me. There is no doubting that this is a major break for me but rest assured the BTMS community is as it always has been right at the top of my list of very favourite people. All the best Wayne
