Another busy week at BTMS Towers!

Things are really cranking up with the CWFF 2008 Presenter Casting Call, and to report this week's update to our delightful Community, is the irrepressible Kirsten Aarden. We know you've been enjoying the first round of the CWFF Casting Call, the auditions have been very entertaining and you've also been leaving your comments and recommendations on profile pages and the forum. We've enjoyed reading all of these, but for those who haven't said their piece, there's only a few hours left before the forum is closed and the final shortlist is decided. So make sure you have your say here [http://www.bethemoviestar.com/main.php?l=forum.view&id=50]. The screen test for the next round will be released simultaneously with the shortlist, so there's much to enjoy on the site today.

All of the reviews have now been posted on individual profiles so check those out and for those who auditioned, be sure to visit the Review Feedback Forum for the generic advice for the first round on this casting call. This is a great way to see how everyone faired overall and summarises where people could have done better but also, where people did good!

Lastly, we call for more volunteers to join Olivia on the hallowed sofa over the next couple of weeks - we've put that pesky Jamie back in his box, and let's pray he doesn't getaway again! Email news@bethemoviestar.com to register your interest in presenting BTMS update video in the near future.

It's done!!! It's all over!!! Did you get an entry in on time? Well done! If not - what were you thinking???!!! We're delighted with all the entries. So here's what happens now - tomorrow at midday, we'll open a new forum for you all to tell us who your favourites are and most importantly, WHY! The reason for this forum is to help us find the right person, and your opinions really do count.

Due to a heinous clerical error, a massive contractual misfortune means that we got stuck with you-know-who again for the BTMS update today. The good news? Well, he's on holiday, so at least we were able to send the BTMS sofa for industrial cleaning as he presents on location... Well, sort of... Well - we can see by all the mails to the office and the many new profiles being created that you have embraced just what a great opportunity the Canary Wharf Film Festival Awards Show presenter truly is! Chances like this come along very rarely, so don't even think of ducking out if you're serious about being seen! Over the past few days, we've been highlighting some BTMS members on the homepage we think could be great bearing in mind the body of work we have seen from them so far. The CWFF Awards Show casting call is a great opportunity for presenting talent to come into their own in front of a live audience, ready for some entertaining! Sensational Casting Call

The CWFF team are using BTMS to find an exceptional presenter - you'll work alongside BTMS' own Jamie Clark to present a prestigious Awards Show evening at the culmination off the Film Festival. This opportunity requires an exceptional entertainer who can work a large live audience and can write their own material. We'll guide you all the way, but you'll need to be pretty fantastic to start with! It's the kind of role that any actor/performer worth their salt should crave, so come on - prove how brave and great you really are! BTMS - Welcome Videos!!!

We're living in a BTMS Welcome Videos Wonderland! We hope you enjoyed the last installment in the campaign trail, Jamie's various musings on his approach to his Welcome Video. We'd love to be able to assure you all that he was indeed harmed in the making of that video journal, but sadly he's still with us, distracting all in the office with his various methods of distraction, loud noises and potent smells.

Keep your eyes peeled keenly - there will be more Do's & Don'ts videos coming soon in amongst various other, er - treats...? Is that the right word...?

And we can release the first of those treats right away - BTMS is on a nostalgia trail in it's efforts to inspire you ahead of making your new Welcome Video. For veteran members, these clips will take you down memory lane - for more recent members, hopefully we're directing you towards something you've not perhaps seen before. In the beginning (well, of BTMS), there was a general, open call - and we asked you all to submit general videos to show us why you had what it takes to be in Rapture. We'll regularly feature six new profiles on the homepage. Click on these, go to on-line auditions and scroll down to the very first audition - 'Lead' for Rapture. There again, perhaps you want to do something a little musical, like Glen Hunt (click here), or show us a few fun clips like Phil Lester (click here), or maybe you want to do a direct, quirky piece to camera like Nadine Salem (click here). These guys really took the opportunity and made us take notice. Ever walked away from an audition thinking - "if only I could show people what I can really do"...? Well, here's your chance - take it!!!

We welcome anything - but keep it decent please of course(!) - showreels are fine if that's what you want, but we would encourage you to try and stand out from the crowd and be inventive if you can. To encourage you all, we'll award a prize for the best new Welcome Video received between now and Friday June 27th. If you already have a video up, but want to compete, then you must submit a new entry. So come on folks, show us why you're great!!!

As an added treat, keep your eyes peeled on the BTMS website - over the next few weeks we'll offer some practical help and - er - inspiration, to help you as you think about what you should upload.

Canary Wharf Film Festival

For the second year running, we're delighted to be supporting the Canary Wharf Film Festival. We know many of you are film-makers, so why not get an entry in this year?! Alternatively you may know a film-maker who can work around your acting or writing talent. Either way, you should grab hold of this chance to get your work seen on the big screen!

The deadline for submissions is June 10th. Entries are welcomed from all countries. Films should be 15 minutes or under, and you may submit for the following categories; Animation, comedy, Docklands (i.e. local interest), documentary, drama, music.

BTMS - Welcome Videos!!!

Over the next few days, we want all our profile members to get your creative juices flowing and record - or re-record and upload a brilliant new Welcome Video. We created this facility to allow all the talent to really shine from the outset - what better way for confident actors to introduce themselves? It's also a psychologically good move. Fair enough you may provide an audition to meet a specific brief - but any really shrewd actor will seek to gain an advantage with a bit of extra screen time. Want to direct us to what you're the best at - be it comedy, drama, or whatever? Then show us... We'll point you towards some strong current welcome videos in the next mail, but get your thinking caps on now - we'll set a deadline and award a prize for the best. Remember - be intuitive and take this as your chance to gain a leg-up on the rest - showreels are useful but general - be creative!!!

The Redneckers - Enema casting announcement

We had a great selection of entries, to a high standard and it was obvious that lots of effort was put into the screen tests. But, unfortunately, following the reviewing process for the role of Enema we felt the brief was not fulfilled to the specifications required.

It has been a difficult decision, but we will not be casting from the auditions received on this casting call. As a result, we will consequently be looking outside of BTMS on this occasion, using traditional casting methods for the role. To find out exactly what we were looking for, please visit the 'Review Feedback Forum' in the Community section. It's essential for top tips on how to get your audition right next time!
